Despite a multi-year downtrend of new student information systems (SIS),  there are still many institutions upgrading and buying new SIS suites. And it seems these institutions are preferring systems in a hosted/cloud environment.

Part of the improved offerings includes easier navigation, a more modern user-friendly interface, a single repository for all information as well as powerful reporting capabilities.

Canvas Replaces Sakai as the College’s New Learning Management System

Anselmians find comfort in long-standing traditions. Yet, the college recently decided that a much-needed change would benefit its community.

That change is a switch from their learning management system Sakai to a new system called Canvas, which “not only offers new tools, and an improved interface but also 24/7 technical support for both students and faculty, which can be very helpful for folks working late at night or on weekends,” said Dr. Kim Round, director of Instructional Technology.
