In order to improve their user experience as well as better manage their student information data, North Central University (NCU) opted to partner with Ellucian's Colleague.

Through this partnership, NCU's new digital capabilities will allow for online administrative and academic operations which puts the students in control of their progress from admissions to graducation in an engaged and productive way.

Portfolium Extends University System of Georgia Partnership As Sole Source ePortfolio Provider

Portfolium and the University System of Georgia will be expanding their partnership for an additional year, keeping Portfolium as the 2019 sole source provider of ePortfolios.

Students will continue to showcase their learning experiences that can be leveraged to land internship and employment opportunities through Portfolium's TalentMatch feature.

Learning Management System - Ferris State University

Bye Bye Blackboard

A team of 34 Ferris faculty members is currently in the process of examining new programs to replace Blackboard.

Demonstrations of the new programs, which include Canvas, D2L Brightspace and the newest version of Blackboard, Blackboard Ultra, began in early November.

After the demonstrations, every university college will each receive two votes and from there, a system will be chosen. A one year transition period will take place between July 2019 and July 2020, when the university’s Blackboard contract expires.

Philander Smith College Migrates to Jenzabar One Cloud Services in Just Two Weeks

In the span of only two weeks, Philander Smith College successfully migrated its Jenzabar One software suite from an on-premise system to Jenzabar Cloud Services.

The college also expanded its use of Jenzabar One's products to include Jenzabar's eLearning which allows students to have access to online courses from any device.

Additionally, the expansion includes Jenzabar's Retention modules. These new capabilities will not only improve reliability, security and accountability, but will do so at a lower cost.

Ivy Tech Names CIO

Effective January 1, Matthew Etchison will become chief information officer for Ivy Tech Community College.

As CIO, Etchison will provide visionary and operational leadership for strategic planning, implementation and improvement of technologies, solutions and related support services.

IU School of Medicine Selects 1st-ever CIO: 4 Things to Know

Rob Lowden will serve as Indiana University School of Medicine's inaugural executive associate dean and CIO as of Jan. 1, 2019.

Lowden will oversee IT strategy for the medical school as well as IT alignment with Indiana University Health and the Regenstrief Institute.
