New Student Information System Under Consideration and More From Leander ISD’s Board Meeting Nov. 29

Leander Independent School District staff has recommended the school approves a new student information system: eSchoolPLUS by PowerSchool Group LLC, to replace their current system. The school is in need of a more modern system with improved functionality for staff, teachers, students, and parents. Highlights of eSchoolPlus include mobile applications, an intuitive interface, and state reporting abilities.

Alert System - Dalhousie University

A New System For Campus Alerts

The current system Dalhousie University uses to communicate in winter storms and other urgent campus events is being retired. It will be replaced by a fully integrated system based around the university's safety and security app, DalSAFE.

By expanding DalSAFE to include the alert system, Dalhousie aims to ensure better, more consistent communications where important information is sent via multiple platforms.

Private College Turns to Predictive Analytics to Grow Enrollment, Retention

Aiming to expand enrollment and boost retention rates of first-year students, Wittenberg University will be applying predictive analytics services from SightLine, a company which enables schools to "strategically allocate limited resources towards improving student outcomes" through optimization of recruitment, enrollment, financial aid, and alumni outreach processes.

Content Management System - Wellesley College

Wellesley College Selects OnBase to Connect Content, Systems and Workflows Across Campus

In order to support their transition to paperless administrative processes as well as providing a central repository for content and documents, Wellesley College selected OnBase, a platform for managing content, processes, and cases.

The initial implementation will focus on eliminating paper and leveraging the platform's strength in content storage and retrieval. Switching to electronic forms and workflows instead of paper forms processing should significantly improve the student and staff experience.

ESSEC Business School Partners With Pearson to Launch Online Executive Master in Digital Transformation

ESSEC Business School and Pearson have partnered to develop and deliver a 100% online executive certificate that provides the depth of focus future managers need.

The first of seven executive certificates, which allow participants to tailor their learning to meet their individual managerial ambitions and interests, will be launched in Spring 2019.

OhioLINK Chooses VitalSource to Improve College Textbook Affordability

With the goal of maintaining competitive Inclusive Access pricing for Ohio students in higher education, the Ohio Library and Information Network has chosen VitalSource and its Verba Connect tool.

Inclusive Access allows students to receive their required course materials on the first day of class while the Verba Connect platform provides tools for every element of Inclusive Access management, from setting the right price to managing opt-out and opt-in decisions.
